hi, im going to say sorry now for how much i dont know about engines etc!

im having trouble with my van starting. i got it from the auctions nearly 2yrs ago and its an ex royal mail van. its been really good apart from this one problem that has pretty much been happening since i got it.

i turn the key and the engine wont kick in! it can go for 20 or 30 seconds sometimes before kicking in. the only way i can explain it is that the glow plugs are knackerd but there not! there is also a clunking noise happening when the engine is trying to start. the clunking also happens a few times when im driving. mainly at slow speed like pulling away or reversing.

sometimes it will kick in after 5 seconds and sometimes i just have to turn the key back and try again because it wont kick in.
